Personal Description:

I am a MA music graduate who loves every aspect of music. With 18 years of violin experience, my violin skills range from fiddle to classical Rachmaninoff. Within my music degree, I did not only study violin performance but I also explored the history of music and the construction of music giving me a wide scope on the music world.

My goal out of university is to share my musical skills to individuals and children that are willing to learn, have fun and experience how amazing music and the violin can be.

Tutoring Experience:

In the past I have taught violin grades 2-3 with children aged 11. I have also lead acappella groups with a range of ages from 16-21 and therefore I know how to lead a lesson to reach a goal.

Within the week I am also a Speech and Language Therapist within an educational setting. Therefore, I continuously develop my teaching skills aiding me in my violin tutoring.

Due to this Teaching Assistant role, I also have DBS which can be seen on request.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to music tuition is to be creative and imaginative. Whilst learning technique and music theory is vital in the development of learning the violin, I also believe looking at the music through a story telling perspective is important in the creation of musicality.

Therefore, whilst each lesson will focus on ABRSM grade components such as scales, technical aspects of the repertoire and physical technique, each lesson will also focus on how the music feels and how the music tells a story.
