Personal Description:

Hi, my name is Matyas, I am a professional jazz pianist and music educator based in West Ealing. I have been playing piano and studying music from the age of 6 and have received a Masters Degree with honor from the University of Vienna in 2018. A performing artist since 2006, I appeared on various stages all around Europe and have been a private music educator for almost 9 years. I look forward to helping you or your child progress and achieve your goals on the piano or keyboard.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching individuals and groups since 2010, with students from the age of 7 to 65 years old. My first experience of music teaching was during my attendance at the University of Graz where I studied pedagogy as part of my bachelor course in performing arts. I have taught on several music workshops in Austria, Italy, Spain, Hungary and North Macedonia where I focused mainly on music theory, piano and ensemble lectures. I am keen on working on a one-to-one basis with my students, as witnessing their continuous progress is invaluably rewarding. I spent two years as a music educator at the World Heart Beat Music Academy.

Tutoring Approach:

I am capable of teaching at all levels, from beginner to advanced: I am always looking for individual needs and goals, and adapt my methods to every given situation. My main field is Jazz however I'm able to teach other genres like classical, pop, latin and funk if wished. Together, my students and I explore a wide spectrum of music theory, scales, rhythm, harmony, improvisation, a defined technique on the instrument and several practising methods in order to improve. As I also have considerable experience on the bandstand, I can also teach stage presence and band leading.
