Personal Description:

Thank you for considering me to help you learn to sing (or sing better!)

I have won two UK wide awards - one pertaining to artist development and the other for vocal and performance coaching and this has led me to create a course sponsored by VocalZone for people who preferred to work online particularly during the covid pandemic. I still teach both in-person and video call lessons to suit, so no matter where you are I can help.

Whether you are learning for fun or want to do something professional with your music (artists I have taught have supported Imagine Dragons on their World Tour, opened Reading and Leeds festival main stage and had songs on TV including Love Island) I'd love to help you get the best out of your voice.

First and foremost, lessons with me are fun and I will put you at ease and make sure that you develop your skills in a productive and non-intimidating environment- so whether you are a beginner or more advanced there is a place for you here. I have a lot of experience as a Music Industry professional who trains artists, songwriters and producers from all across the country. In fact, some of my current artists travel upward of 4 hours each way to come to me for training, so you can be assured of learning quality.

I work from a custom built studio in Birstall, Leeds that has been designed for great acoustics for mixing and music production purposes.

I was classically trained, starting in Westminster Abbey as a Chorister and going on to various choirs, GCSE and A Level Music, HND Music Production and professional certificates with Berklee.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been working in artist development for over 11 years and have taught singing, songwriting and music production throughout that time. I have mixed countless records and have been recommended by Industry professionals who work with all major labels. As I have previously said, if you are a beginner or learning for fun - don't let this put you off, I have plenty of singing pupils who are with me for just that reason and I teach from age 10 up.

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching is as diverse as it comes - from teaching aspiring pop stars, to club singers, people who want to sound like other artists for work and those who just learn for fun.

I teach all of the skills you would expect from a singing teacher including breathing techniques, ways to improve power and control of your voice and how to improve emotion so that you sound great no matter what application you are putting your voice into. I was taught by the best starting out as a chorister at Westminster Abbey and then going on to be in many choirs from chamber to orchestral and everything in between (even a Barbershop group and a boyband!) As I now specialise in Artist Development, I do not enter people into examinations, as my pupils are not looking for that kind of tuition. I do however make awesome singers from students who come to me - only recently coaching a musical theatre singer to get the main part in productions, twice in a row!
