Personal Description:

Hello there! My name is Matt, I have been playing the guitar for over 15 years and have a wide variety of experiences in teaching. Music has always been a passion of mine, and teaching has made it that much more fulfilling.
I enjoy playing a wide variety of genres including: Rock, Acoustic, Blues, Funk, Pop, R&B, Motown, Metal to name a few.

Some of my favourite guitarists: John Frusciante, Mark Knopfler, Mark Lettieri, Eric Clapton, Les Paul and Nile Rodgers to name a few

I have a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. So I have many passions. But music has always been a big part of my life.

I am patient and cheerful, and I help students achieve and succeed on the guitar with enthusiasm and easy-to-understand teaching methods. I teach with a joy that really energises my students and enjoy a good laugh.

Every lesson for every student is planned on their own dedicated spreadsheet, where I can track progress and we can discuss lesson plans. I will take into account what YOU want too. Many teachers prescribe their lessons with a rigid plan and don't take into account what the students want to get out of the experience as much. So I listen to your suggestions as well as making my own.

I put together free worksheets for you to take home and use as practicing tools for reference; by the end you will have a full portfolio full of the techniques and theory you have learned for reference.

I teach acoustic or electric. I know a huge variety of weird and wonderful techniques. You don't even need to have a guitar! You can try on mine before deciding. I have an electro-acoustic, and acoustic and two electrics. So we can learn on either. You can try a variety of pedals to get an idea as to what they do and how they work. I use dual monitors and an e-pad to supplement my lessons and convey concepts and theory.
