Information About Matt - Bristol teacher

Personal Description:

Previously working at Abbey Road Studios in London for 8 years as a Recording and Mix Engineer, I have worked with some of the most critically acclaimed artists in the world (Paul McCartney, Frank Ocean, James Blake, Ezra Collective). I have a deep love for many styles of music but have found myself specialising more and more in Future Jazz recording and mixing. This is a really exciting genre to work in as it blends live studio recording with more electronic/beats based programming and manipulation. I also write and produce my own music and I am one half of the duo Hong Kongleton. Using both Pro Tools and Ableton Live to construct and embellish the compositions into lush and otherworldly soundscapes.

Tutoring Experience:

During my time at the studios I have also worked with many universities and institutes to help educate students in recording and production skills. I am bringing this wealth of experience into the tutoring domain and guide budding students to pursue and develop their passion in music production.

Tutoring Approach:

As a tutor I can provide an energised and inspired approach to teaching. Fundamentally I love music and hope to pass on this torch of enthusiasm to those up and coming youngsters who share this passion. I am a deeply understanding and patient person that is aware of the needs of individuals and can provide a nurturing and encouraging teacher-student relationship.
