Information About Martin - Kettering teacher - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated Martin:
Martin has been playing the guitar since the age of 12 turning professional in 2004 after studying under some of the UK's best guitar teachers at The Institute of Contemporary Performance. Whilst there, Martin scooped the prize for 'Top Guitar Performer 2004' whilst studying for a Diploma in Popular Music Performance, passing with distinction.
The following year, Martin entered a national competition called Riffathon Live and performed in front of judges Brian May (Queen), Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) and Dan Hawkins (The Darkness). Martin was presented with 1st prize with Jimmy Page quoted as saying "Without a doubt, this guy came in and he played it better than I could have done".
Established in 2004, Martin's Guitar Tuition is well respected in the area for providing quality one-to-one guitar tuition at competitive prices. Every student taking grades via the Rockschool exams has passed - many with merit or distinction.
Students can be assured of receiving a firm grounding in the basics of playing the Guitar from which students can branch out to pursue their personal interests and goals. Lesson handout materials are provided to help with home learning at no additional cost.
Understanding that each student has individual needs and goals, once the basics are covered students may opt for a graded approach to progress through or increase their repertoire with selected songs which utilize the techniques learned during lessons. Since music theory is included throughout lessons, students may feel they'd like to get into composition of their own music and improvisation of their own solos.
