Information About Mark - Wembley teacher
I play electric, acoustic and classical guitar as well as piano.
I have been studying music for many years, having gained a bachelors in which I studied theory, history, composition and performance.
I currently study a Masters in Composition and I try to learn as much as I can about the many aspects of music as I feel that an understanding of music facilitates growth in style, performance and confidence. I try to pass on this knowledge to my students; even if they don't think that its relevant at the time!
I have been teaching guitar for many years now and have been a student of music for many, many years. My experience as a teacher has been with children and adults, both privately and in a class room.
I focus on the student as an individual. Playing an instrument is a personal thing and each student has their own desires and tastes; as such I find it best to use these qualities as a starting point for development. I aim to develop a familiarity with the instrument and a control of the body to produce a solid technique.
I do include theory in my lessons as I think it is a valuable tool that can be applied to any instrument once it is learned.
I aim to keep the student enthusiastic through fun exercises and the steady achievement of small and larger goals.
