Personal Description:

I am an experienced professional oboist and teacher who aims to show that the oboe's undeserved reputation as being a difficult instrument to play is untrue. Playing any instrument - to whatever standard an individual can achieve - should be fun. The oboe is one of the most expressive and beautiful instruments, with more opportunities for joining local groups and ensembles than other more commonly played instruments.

My two books '**Removed By Admin**' are written in a light, easy to read humorous style.

I can loan a student instrument to beginners, until they decide to buy an oboe of their own, on which I can advise if wished.

I welcome students of all ages and standards, from beginner to advanced. I teach in an informal, friendly manner and am generous with my time.

During a long career I have coached school and adult orchestral and chamber courses and taught at schools and privately, in Yorkshire, London, Cambridge and South Devon.
