Personal Description:
I am a professional violinist and violist, originally from Ireland. I moved to Edinburgh to work as a violin/viola tutor for the music organisation Sistema Scotland (Big Noise). I have over 10 years experience teaching violin and viola through one to one and group teaching. I am classically trained and have a Masters degree in music and violin performance. Before moving to Edinburgh I worked as a freelance violinist playing with all the major orchestras in Ireland, as a session musician recording for many different bands and playing regularly with string quartets for various events around the country.

I have over 10 years experience teaching violin and viola. I enjoy working with students of all levels and standards. Apart from my private teaching I have taught for various music schools, organisations and orchestras as listed below.

Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching violin is very much student based. I will always adapt to the needs of the student in order to achieve the most positive and rewarding success for them and for their musical journey. Although learning the violin or viola can be challenging, lessons should be enjoyable and it always my mission for students to leave with a smile and feeling like they have achieved something in every session.
If students or parents have specific goals, such as graded exams or auditions, I will work with them to achieve to those goals in a manageable and considered way.
