Personal Description:

Marie is known as a versatile freelance musician, playing solo, chamber music and in orchestras. She performed in various venues and festivals around the world.

Her experiences as an orchestral musician has led her to perform with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the St.-Petersburg Ballet Theatre, the Oxford Philharmonic, the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, the European Union Chamber Orchestra, the Belgian Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Flemish Philharmonic.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Marie has performed two recital concerts in the Wigmore Hall (London). Next to this, she is a member of the Chamber Music Box. Marie was invited to take part in the Gustav Mahler Academy and the Santander Festival, where she played alongside Hansjörg Schellenberger. With the Ranelagh Chamber Orchestra, she performed the viola solo in Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante.

Marie is a prizewinner of several competitions. She was awarded the second prize at the North London Festival - Viola Competition, the third prize at the violin and viola competition of the Kenneth Page Foundation, the second place at the Theodore Holland Viola Prize and she received a scholarship from the Fondazione Paolo Grassi, awarded by Bruno Giuranna.

During master classes she had the opportunity to work with renowned violists such as Lawrence Power, Wolfram , Bruno Giuranna, Lars Anders Tomter, Hartmut Rohde, Garth Knox, Helen Callus, Yuko Inoue and Richard Crabtree.

As a big believer of music education, Marie founded her own music agency, called Marie Arts Academy. The Academy offers students of all ages and levels instrument lessons at their home or online. For more information, please check **Web Address Removed**

As a teacher, Marie is a certified ABRSM and colour string teacher. She works for Highgate School, St.-Dunstan College and Brent Music Servic. Beside this, she teaches violin, viola and piano privately.

Her students obtained distinctions and merits in the ABRSM exams, and were succesfull in obtaining music scholarhips at their schools. Furthermore her students won prizes at competitions, positions in the National Children Orchestra, places at the Junior Guildhall and Junior Trinity School, and grants for music courses.

In 2014 she was an intern for the First String Experience class at the junior department of the Royal Academy of Music.

Marie studied violin with Guido De Neve and Tatiana Samouil at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (Belgium). In 2012 she obtained her master degree on the violin and moved to London to start her second master studies on the viola with Jon Thorne at the Royal Academy of Music, where she graduated in 2015. Today Marie is professionally active as a violinist and violist.

The achievements of my students stand as a testament to our collective effort: winning competitions, securing places in prestigious junior music schools and national youth orchestras, and excelling in exams with merits and distinctions. I've also guided students through their music GCSEs and A levels, assisting in their performance preparation and even partnering in ensemble pieces.
