Personal Description:

I am a professional singer and singing teacher. ARCM, dip.RCM. I studied at The Royal College of Music where i obtained my performers and teaching diplomas. I have played many lead roles in both the West End and opera. I played the lead role of 'Christine' in The Phantom of the Opera opposite Michael Crawford etc.I have performed as a soloist with leading orchestras, including The Royal Philharmonic and The BBC Concert Orchestra, at The Albert Hall and The Royal festival Hall etc.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught singing at major stage schools, including the Arts Educational School, London, and Elmhurst Ballet School and i have also taught privately for many years. My teaching qualification is Dip.RCM ( Royal Collage of Music) and performers ARCM. My experience as a performer of both classical opera and musical theatre and jazz etc. mean that i have been able to teach many styles of singing and often coach people for West End shows, classical concerts, opera and music festivals.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach Bel Canto singing technique, focusing on correctly supporting the voice safely to achieve ultimate relaxation and developing the voice to its full potential. I teach different styles of singing including classical, musical theatre, jazz and popular music as well as teaching audition technique and microphone technique. I like to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible. I approach every student individually depending on their personality, standard and musicality etc. If a student doesn't understand something i try different ways of putting it across until i find something that works for that individual. Everybody is different and i am very sensitive to that. I try to make teaching fun and i believe praise is very important however small the improvement. I have a lot of patience.
