Information About Maria - Barnet teacher - (2 reviews)
This is how 3 referees rated Maria:
I am an experienced and engaging flute teacher based in High Barnet. I teach both adults and children and I cover various musical genres. I've studied Flute at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and have been teaching flute to adults and children across London over the last seven years. In addition to private tutoring I also run weekly group flute lessons in north London.
I'm happy to follow the a grading system (ABRSM or Trinity) or I can devise a personalised plan for your specific needs. My teaching program consists of a combination of sight reading, concert pieces and exercises designed to tackle problematic areas within those pieces. In my lessons I encourage improvisation and have a range of helpful resources, for example, backing tracks to help my students become more confident in their improvising.
I've been teaching flute to both children and adults for over 7 years successfully catering to students with various musical aspirations.
My priority is to make sure that the process of learning flute is fun. I aim to teach in a clear and engaging way using examples from everyday life to illustrate my points. Through doing this I help my students develop skills that enable effective practice at home. In my lessons I try to set my students ambitious yet realistic goals so that the students gain a real sense of achievement. Through the years I've learnt that challenges are a vital element of getting better at playing flute. My role as your teacher would be to guide you through these challenges whilst respecting your individual style and pace of learning.
