Personal Description:
I am a very experienced Singing, Piano, and Music Theory teacher. I was a professional Opera singer at the Royal Opera house for a number of years -I then went on to become a ;professional teacher (PGCE) and I worked in schools and music services teaching Singing, Music ,Theory and Piano.
I continued to take more Diplomas in teaching and piano accompaniment and to undertake professional solo work.
I have extremely good personal skills and I strive to bring out the best in all my students whether they are in need of just developing their voice or confidence, working towards auditions or taking exams I have excellent proven results with exams including ABRSM, Music Theatre and Rockschool.
Tutoring Experience:
I have worked in Music Services :Newham, Havering, Enfield, Barking and Dagenham as a Singing, Piano and Theory teacher. I have directed choirs, worked as a Music Adjudicator and Vocal coach for large scale Theatre musicals.
I currently teach pupils age 7-18 at an Independent school and accompany Singers and Instrumentalists for public exams and concerts.
In addition to my AGSM degree (Guildhall) I also have PGCE ATCL ( both teaching ) and DipLCM (Piano accompaniment)… I teach at home and online.
Tutoring Approach:
I give the same attention and focus to a student whether the lessons are towards an exam or performance or neither.
Its very important to me that a student increases his/her self esteem and confidence as a singer.
With Singing i teach vocal exercises to build range and stamina and to give a knowledge of correct breathing. Songs are approached in an achievable an enjoyable manner.
With Piano I work on basic scales , finger positions and fun pieces often towards an exam.
I teach Music Theory in an engaging way at the students own pace.
