Information About Maayan - Enfield teacher

Personal Description:

I have been playing guitar for twenty years. A self-taught musician, I studied at Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, where I honed my composition and song-writing skills. I still make music, and have released two albums of folk, rock and pop-inspired songs. I have been performing my music for ten years, in London and elsewhere.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught piano and guitar to adults and children. I can also teach song-writing.

Tutoring Approach:

Having mostly taught myself to play guitar and piano, I have had to find creative ways to discover these instruments. Along the way, I found simple yet effective ways to learn the skills to play beautiful and interesting music. I believe that everyone can learn an instrument and enjoy playing. I use the experience of having taught myself to inform my teaching. As such, as a tutor I try to keep lessons fun, allowing my students to enjoy learning to play music. As a song-writer, if a student wants to write their own music, I can support that process in our lessons.
