Information About Luke - Great Yarmouth teacher
This is how a referee rated Luke:
I have been playing in regularly gigging bands for the past five years, doing every style from Rockabilly, to Classic Rock, with a dash of Acoustic and Indie thrown in, I have always had a great love of music and love all sorts of different styles, though recently I have gotten really into 60's Garage Rock, and Rockabilly, my passion for music always comes out in my teaching. I completed a Diploma in Performing Music and a CTTLS teaching qualification, and have been doing training in Music teaching through Suffolk County Council to constantly improve my knowledge of teaching to all age ranges and styles, and am a passionate believer that everyone can achieve there goals if encouraged along every step of the way.
I have been teaching at Allens Music Centre for the past three months, I have taught in schools for the past eleven months and have helped teach and run music workshops in association with Access to Music for the past eighteen months. I have worked with every sort of pupil from Dementia patients to 6 year olds, groups and single person tuition, and am always friendly and approachable and will always try hard to find a method that works for you.
I believe in starting off lessons with songs that interest you, using these as a basis to teach other skills such as improvisation, keeping time, making rhythm playing more interesting, strumming, scale and arpeggio use. I believe that if a pupil enjoys what they are learning they are more likely to practice and not see it as a chore improving more rapidly and gaining more enjoyment from the instrument.
