Personal Description:

Experienced and qualified piano teacher giving lessons in my own music studio, although because of Covid and family vulnerability all my lessons are online at the moment. I teach all ages and abilities and most of my students take ABRSM exams, both the Practical Exam and the new Performance Exam. I also teach music theory up to Grade 8, give lessons in aural training. I am able to help with GCSE and A Level exam preparation if required.

Tutoring Experience:

27 years teaching experience in state schools as Head of Music,rehearsing choirs, recorder groups, orchestral groups and music drama productions(e.g. Britten's Noyes Fludde) and 20 years private tuition since then,which has consisted mainly of individual lessons, but included two-piano work (four hands and eight hands).

Tutoring Approach:

I hope to combine a real love of music through learning the piano with all the practical skills needed to help to make this possible.I am able to teach in most styles to anyone keen to learn.
