Personal Description:

I am a professionally trained, friendly musician with a range of teaching experience. I studied at Birmingham University and Trinity College of Music and now enjoy an active freelance career. Aside from teaching, I play with a variety of orchestras (such as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia and National Symphony Orchestra) and chamber music groups.

I am very passionate about music and I enjoy passing on my passion and expertise to aspiring young musicians and amateurs alike.

I teach all brass instruments (specialising in French Horn and Trumpet) and the Recorder, as well as music theory.
I either teach at my home in Catford or travel to you (as long as you're in London!)

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching privately for 8 years and I teach at St Ursula's School in Greenwich and Harris Academy East Dulwich. I have experience leading brass and wind quintet workshops in primary schools and I have worked on LPO FunHarmonics with the London Philharmonic Orchestra's education team.

Tutoring Approach:

My lessons are tailored to pupils’ needs, whether graded exam preparation or just enjoyment. I always aim to make my lessons enjoyable and inspiring, and for younger pupils I have lots of music games to keep them interested!
I make sure all my pupils have a solid grounding in technique and I try to infuse all my teaching with aural training (i.e. learning to listen - the basis of being a good musician)

For brass pupils, I bring the benefit of having been taught by, and shadowed, some of the best brass teachers around.
