Information About Lauren - Derby teacher
This is how 4 referees rated Lauren:
Hi, I’m Lauren and I teach drum lessons at **Removed By Admin**! I started drumming at the age of thirteen and haven't put the sticks down since! I completed my initial training by achieving a distinction for my grade eight drumming exam and then went on to study Popular and World Musics at the University of Leeds followed by a Master's Degree in Music Management at the University of Sheffield. I have a DBS check, am a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and have trained in SEN and EAL learning.
Although the drum kit is my first instrument, I also play the flute, guitar, bass, piano and saxophone and enjoy writing and producing music. I have been playing in bands for as long as I've been playing the drums and have been lucky enough to play gigs and festivals all over the UK and beyond. I am currently drumming for a number of bands and am also available as a session drummer for live and recording projects.
I started teaching drum lessons on a one-to-one basis during my studies in 2009. As well as one-to-one lessons, I also lead various group projects, band rehearsals and jam sessions with children and adults. I have also taken part in a number of other music projects outside of **Removed By Admin**, for example I was part of a team working with Nottingham Community Music trialling some new music software aimed at early years and SEN students. I also worked for Artis as a performing arts leader running projects in primary schools, using music, dance and drama to teach national curriculum subjects. Through these extra projects I have been lucky enough to receive training in good teaching methods and behaviour management and safeguarding. I also have experience in teaching special needs, early years and EAL (English as an Addition Language) children.
I teach under the trading name of **Removed By Admin**offers drum lessons taught by Lauren to pupils of all ages from the purpose built **Removed By Admin**studio in Derby. As well as one-to-one instrumental lessons there are many other things to get involved in from filming performance videos to taking part in sessions, clubs and band practices.
I also offer video lessons for those who may not be able to get to **Removed By Admin** on a regular basis.
The aim of **Removed By Admin** is to provide pupils with real life musical skills and above all, a passion for music. The lessons are tailored to suit the needs, goals and learning styles of the individual pupils, whether that be to take graded exams, play in a band, write or simply to have fun.
