Personal Description:
My name is Laura and I have been singing, playing piano, recording, performing and songwriting for over a decade. I am currently teaching in Central London (Euston NW1) and from home in Stanmore (HA7) I teach singing grades, piano grades and am a certified Level Two IVA (Institute For Vocal Advancement) Vocal Coach.
Have you always wanted to learn to sing or play piano?
Need last minute help with an audition piece?
Want to conquer your fear of singing or playing in public?
Whatever your reason and no matter where you are in your musical journey get in touch!
I teach all levels. My students range from five years old to sixty years old!
Complete beginners don't be nervous! So many musicians suffer from low confidence levels. Having a mentor who is on your side, who you can trust really helps in your singing and musical journey.
Tutoring Experience:
I started my vocal training at just nine years old and have studied singing for many years with some of the world's best teachers: Voxbox Director and Co-Founder Leon Berrange, Advanced IVA Instructor Rachel Black, master SLS teacher Greg Enriquez and master IVA teacher Guy Babusek.
I have taken part in singing competitions such as Sky 1’s Must Be The Music, (which saw my band and I perform at The Hackney Empire in front of the likes of Jamie Cullum & Dizzee Rascal) been through the gruelling audition processes of both The Voice UK and The X Factor UK.
Through writing, recording and touring with my band Tokyo Taboo I have gained an extensive knowledge surrounding today’s music industry and unsigned scene. The music industry is competitive and tough on all who partake in it. That's why it's so important to be the best vocalist you can be and stay in a supportive learning environment. I will push you, improve your voice and provide you with advise and guidance that I've learned through all my years in the industry. I know the pitfalls of singing in a band with a loud drummer behind you forcing you to shout to hear yourself. I've spent many hours flipping into head voice, pulling chest to get what I thought was a strong and powerful sound. I know how frustrating it is to want to sound a certain way but for your voice not to behave itself! I used to be limited by my voice and wrote songs only in my comfort zone now my voice inspires me. I've been through it all so let me show you how to master your voice so that you can become the singer (and artist) that you've always wanted to be.
Tutoring Approach:
"I discovered some new depths to my singing voice today. Took on the almighty Freddie Mercury and surprised myself! Fantastic music and session and I owe all my improvements to Laura. A great teacher and an incredible singer"

"I have had the good fortune to learn singing from Laura for the last 6 months. The classes are always a highlight of my week and I have seen an improvement in my voice. I've always shied away from songs with high notes but Laura has given me the skills and confidence to attempt these. I take weekly classes and they are excellent value for money. Laura is a lovely teacher and person, and provides the right balance of encouragement and challenge. I thoroughly recommend taking classes with her!"
Ujvala, advanced singer
"Learning from Laura has been brilliant. It's a fun and productive environment where you really make progress. For me, what has been so so helpful is the attention to detail and how Laura really tunes in to the 'problem areas' of my voice and gives specific techniques to improve.I found it so hard to stay relaxed and just flow in singing which is finally coming together after a long struggle before learning from Laura! Would highly recommend without hesitation - you'll have so much fun, learn and improve a great deal."
Sharmin singer and songwriter
"I have been taking lessons with Laura almost every week for the past six months. The singing lessons have been an opportunity to relax and to dedicate a full hour to my voice with professional coaching. I soon enough could see an improvement in my capacities: I feel more confident about my voice, knowing better what I can actually do with it. Also, I feel I have been given the tools to practice by myself. I warmly recommend Laura as a singing teacher, she creates a comfortable learning atmosphere and adapts her teaching to a student's needs and wishes.'
Patrizia, songwriter and performer

The birthday present plan appears to have gone well.
My Laura was totally surprised when she saw the voucher.
She arrived home after her first lesson and couldn’t stop talking about it, she enjoyed it so much .– I think she’s hooked.
I hope it continues to go well ,for you both .
A big thank you , for making my birthday present search, so simple !
All the best
Dan
Sorry for the misunderstanding. But it does clearly state that travel costs are be negotiated in red before purchasing my details. Most students understand that travellling is my time and costs me money so therefore will usually be an added expense when I'm travelling somewhere. I don't know any other teacher who doesn't charge extra money when travelling to someone else's house to teach. It's standard practice. Best of luck with your search.
Very patient
