Personal Description:

I am a Classical pianist and a fully qualified piano teacher holding 5 diplomas, currently studying for my Bachelor of Music Honours degree at the Royal College of Music, Kensington, London. Experienced in teaching students of all ages, I offer piano lessons to children and adults in High Wycombe.
By the age of thirteen, I had achieved the ALCM, LLCM, DipABRSM, FLCM and LRSM diplomas in piano performance. I also studied as a specialist musician at the Wells Cathedral School, which is one of the top three most prestigious music schools in the UK. Participating in numerous international festivals and masterclasses helped me improve and develop as an active musician. Working with many professional musicians who have honed their instinctive understanding of music with years of practice and performance has influenced and enhanced my musical maturity. In addition, I also had the honour to perform a solo recital at the President's Palace in Malta.
As a performer, I have participated in many competitions, both nationally and internationally and I have been awarded first prize at competitions in Malta, England, Ukraine, Germany, Austria and Italy. In addition to having won the IBLA Grand Prize Competition in Sicily, I was named the ‘Most Distinguished Musician’ and as a result, I was offered a two-week scholarship at the Kent State University in Ohio. There, I performed at Severance Hall in Cleveland. More recently, I performed Grieg’s Piano Concerto with the EUYO in Malta and in the prestigious Cathedral in Wells (UK) after winning the Concerto Competition there.

Tutoring Experience:

With years of experience in teaching, I encourage new pupils of all ages to have music as a part of their life. I successfully prepare my students for the ABRSM exams and provide them with numerous opportunities to perform on a platform which helps boost their confidence. I am a part of the European Piano Teachers Association which provides and encourages a wide participation and great opportunities for students to perform. Working with other musicians has lead me to accompany many instrumentalists and vocalists, which I enjoy greatly. This has been helpful in widening my musical experience as I am constantly working and communicating with other musicians. I also talk with my students and discuss what they want to achieve, helping them develop in the best possible way.

Tutoring Approach:

As a teacher, I believe that different individuals learn in different ways. My goal is to see my pupils fall in love with music just like I have. Techniques such as games, rewards and inspirational stories help inspire them to work harder. I am a very calm and dedicated person and I believe that showing my passion for music to my students is essential as it will encourage them to grow and develop further. I strive to build a good musical foundation, incorporating theory and aural skills from an early stage. I care about each and every one of my students and I try my best to have a good teacher-student relationship with them. I praise them, helping them appreciate their success. Experimentation and exploration is a part of my teaching as it is very important for my students to discover and experiment different sounds by themselves. Seeing them grow and flourish brings me so much joy and satisfaction!
