Personal Description:
I am a graduate from a Popular Music performance course in Southampton. I have been playing the drums for 10 years and have a particular passion for teaching and encouraging others. I also have an MA in Popular Music Performance from one of the countries top music schools so performance is an important aspect of my life.
Tutoring Experience:
I currently tutor several pupils ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 6, although I mentor drummers at the secondary school I work in who are Grade 8 standard. I work with the school's rock band so can tutor pupils in the art of ensemble playing. I have also been teaching for the Hertfordshire Music Service for the last two years so have been working in schools throughout the county since then.
Tutoring Approach:
I always ensure my teaching repertoire is current and engaging for the students and will personalise my teaching according to the individual, whether they choose to follow an exam route or just want to play for enjoyment.
