Personal Description:

Sharing knowledge and expertise is a great passion of mine. I am a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (BMus Hons and MA) where I have studied with Maya Iwabuchi, leader of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Katie Hull, assistant concertmaster of the Scottish Opera.

With over five years teaching experience, I am a Deputy tutor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Juniors, the East Dunbartonshire Council and Sistema Scotland.

Concert engagements have taken me to Cyprus, Greece, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. I have performed in prestigious halls including Buckingham Palace in London and Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh. I have participated in concerts series and music festivals such as Festival d’Aix en Provence (France), Rosin Chamber Music Festival (UK), Kypria International Festival (Cyprus), Mondays at One (UK) and Pharos Arts Foundation Concert Series (Cyprus). As a soloist, I appeared with orchestras including Cyprus Symphony Orchestra.

I have performed in orchestral projects with Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Opera, Scottish Ensemble, and the Brodsky Quartet. I have worked with conductors such as Pablo Heras- Casado, Jessica Cottis, Christian Kluxen and Alpesh Chauhan. I had the opportunity to receive masterclasses from teachers around the world such as Joseph Swensen (USA), Lutsia Impragimova (UK), Simon James (USA), Leland Chen (UK), Dmitri Sheinkman(Russia/Israel), Dimitris Handrakis (Greece), Simos Papanas (Greece), Mikis Michaelides(Greece) and Matheos Kariolou (Austria).

The discipline of the Conservatoire and the new techniques I have been taught have improved my musicianship greatly, and I am very eager to pass on this knowledge to others.

Tutoring Experience:

With over five years teaching experience, I teach children and adults from beginners to professional level; one to one as well as in groups. I am a Deputy Tutor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Juniors, the East Dunbartonshire Council and Sistema Scotland.

I am experienced in preparing pupils for performances, ABRSM exams; beginners to Grade 8 and DipABRSM Level,SQA exams and entry exams to music schools.
However, no pressure to do so if you don't wish to.

Tutoring Approach:

I am enthusiastic, motivating and friendly.

My teaching philosophy focuses on the individuality of each student, therefore I am adaptable and flexible to each one's needs.

I aim to promote a high standard of music in a comfortable and engaging environment in which encourages and supports the student to develop their own self-expression, ask questions, improve, achieve their full potential and have fun!

I believe that patience and support are essential, so I do everything in my power to provide help and guidance every step of the way.

As a working individual flexibility was very important and Konstantina takes every care to accommodate lessons to my needs. Having had prior experience with the instrument I felt understood regarding what and how I needed to work on. Konstantina took consideration of that previous experience and the material I had engaged with trying to build upon that. She is knowledgeable, and approachable and I am feeling at ease to ask any query I might have. Not only do I feel that the method used helps me enhance my skills, but I also enjoy the learning process and an appreciation and love for music is nurtured withing me.

I'm a complete beginner in my thirties with not much time to practice throughout the week but I still feel like I'm learning something new at each class and slowly getting better. I'd definitely recommend her as a teacher for all levels and all age groups.

From Helen (5/5): I am delighted with the lessons I am having with Konstantina. She is an intuitive and sensitive teacher who attunes to how I learn and what I want to express and communicate in my playing, and she offers exactly what I need to develop and improve. She listens not only to how I play, but to who I am as a person, and so I am gradually building my confidence in my own ability to interpret the music and to develop my technique to improve how I do this. She also has a way of asking questions that make me reflect and see things I couldn't see before, which is very exciting. Each lesson I come away with new ways to think about and practise what I am learning. I cannot recommend Konstantina highly enough and I am very happy with the progress I am making.

From Fahad (5/5): It's been almost a year since my first lesson. I have been most happy so far with my progress, though slower than I would've liked, but that's due to my own lack of practice. From my experience so far, I believe her to be a really kind person, and as such, has a lot of patience and is very lenient. So you must put in a lot of effort on your own side, and will need to organise yourself if you wish to excel. It's of no doubt that the teacher is competent, but the more work you put in, the more help and of use each lesson will be to you.

Konstantina has been most patient with me, and have provided help every step of the way as a teacher should, I would highly recommend to those that want to start learning the violin. The price is great for a student; affordable at any age!

Konstantina creates a friendly and encouraging atmosphere in the lesson and always keeps me challenged. I am now currently working towards taking a violin exam with ABRSM thanks to Konstantina’s guidance and support. I would definitely recommend if you are considering lessons.
