Information About Kim - Bath teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Kim:
My name is Kim . I am an American but have been living in the UK for 7 years and happily call Britain my new home. I received all of my schooling in the United States and have an B.A. in music education and an M.M. in flute performance. I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities.
I have been performing and teaching the flute for more than 30 years and offer tuition for all ages and abilities. I began teaching while doing my undergraduate degree and quickly decided that teaching is something I thoroughly enjoy. I have experience teaching privately as well as directing school ensembles and working with students in intense music programs. I also enjoy performing and love to work with small ensembles. Adult beginning students are very welcome.
My approach to teaching is to have fun while helping students to build an understanding and appreciation for music and the flute as well as to help them play to the best of their ability.
My lessons consist of a combination of playing, listening, theory and discussion. I believe that it is very important that students have the opportunity to play in ensemble with others. We often play duets during lesson times as well as having the opportunity, if the student wishes, to participate in at least one recital a year. Here students have an occasion to play with an accompanist as well as in ensembles with other students.
Many students want to work towards their grades and I am absolutely happy to help them achieve these goals. Others wish to simply increase their understanding and enjoyment of playing the flute and that is also a very worthy goal.
