Information About Kevin - Lincoln teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Kevin:
I have performed as a professional musician in venues across the UK, Europe and America. I also compose music for Media and run Vivo Arts, a company specialising in providing peripatetic music tuition to schools.
I have taught privately since 2008 and I also teach in schools in both Lincoln and Birmingham. I teach GCSE and A Level Music as well as theory and practical instrumental lessons.
I firmly believe that learning music should be fun - we all need to know the basics and we all need to follow a path to make us better musicians but, as everyone absorbs information in very different ways, my job as a teacher is to find the way that suits the student the best.
As a graded syllabus, I tend to use the Trinity Rock & Pop grades, however I can happily teach from others too. My theory is taught from either the ABRSM syllabus or from the LCM Popular Music Theory course, depending on the student.
Using songs selected by both myself and the student, we can learn the techniques required for students to become accomplished players.
