Personal Description:
I have been involved in music making in this area for over twenty years as a singer, chamber musician, pianist, and accompanist to many instrumentalists, choirs, and singers, and am now keen to share my skills and experience by teaching piano. I have a wide range of musical interests, and took the ABRSM Grade 5 Jazz piano exam to broaden my experience. Also have Grade 8 Singing, Trombone, and Grade 7 Violin.
Tutoring Experience:
I taught piano many years ago before the pressures of career and family intervened, but have been active in accompanying and mentoring young musicians, and have been a tutor several times at the renowned Durham Summer School for Young Musicians.
Tutoring Approach:
I have a very flexible approach, based on sound technique and classically-based but open to other genres of music.
