I graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama having received a Bachelor of Music with honours in Violin. I began studying with Patricia Noall at Wells Cathedral School where I also attended masterclasses with Yfrah Neaman and Howard Davies, and later went on to learn with Kristoff Smietana and Erica Klempereur at the Guildhall. Since leaving the Guildhall I have played with artists such as Imogen Heap, Flawless, the English National Ballet, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, and have recently recorded for BBC radio. I have also played with Connecting Arts with Simon Sturgeon Clegg, and City sinfonia ,with soloists Guy Johnson and Ilya Gringolts.
2011-2020 Clifton Strings- Violin Tutor
2006-2014 Kingston Music and Arts Service- Orchestral assistant
2006-2008 Theme Music Service- Individual Violin tuition up to Grade 8
2006-2014 Gatehouse School: Piano teacher. Teaching students aged 5-11
I believe that enjoyment in music comes from making music with others and that it is vital to develop musical skills in all areas. I have an enthusiastic approach to teaching, making sure pupils develop technique and aural skills, learn how to sightread and play music from memory whilst also having fun playing musical games in lessons. I believe that students need these skills to be well developed in order to achieve good marks in grade exams. I think it is very important for the students to have a goal such as a school concert or an assembly and encourage them to give mini concerts for family and friends at home.
