Personal Description:

Hello! My name is Katie, and I am a singing and piano teacher based in Camberwell, South London. I have a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from Guildhall School of Music and Drama and am a performing opera singer by profession. I have a real interest in vocal health and alignment and yoga is one of my favourite hobbies. Although classical singing is my main area of expertise, i also have experience teaching popular music, musical theatre and other genres. Aside from singing, I have played the piano for the past 17 years and taught it for the past 4 years.

When I'm not making music you'll find me running, open water swimming or doing embroidery!

I am DBS checked, first aid trained and have a full, clean drivers licence.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching singing and piano both privately and through agencies in and around London for the past four years. I also have worked with Breathe Arts Health Research who focus on taking music into clinical spaces (ie workshops) and the Irene Taylor Trust who use music as a rehabilitative tool in prisons. I have experience working with SEN students and those with ASD.

I have covered voice and piano teaching at London School of Arts in Enfield.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that every student requires a unique approach and I hope to make learning both fun and stimulating. I am experienced in teaching a variety of genres (opera, classical, musical theatre) and both adults and children.

Growing up my music lessons were one of the highlights of my week so I hope to bring others the same joy that learning to sing/play gave me!
