Personal Description:
I am a full-time musician and vocal teacher. I hold a Master's degree in music composition and an undergraduate degree in music, with six years of experience, including preparation for GCSE Level and ABRSM exams, covering singing up to Grade 8 and Music Theory.
I offer vocal lessons tailored to individuals of all ages and skill levels. Depending on what you want from lessons, I can teach to exam board specifications, develop short-term project-based needs and facilitate long-term development in both singing and music theory. I hold a first-class music degree from the University of York and have worked as a session singer, teaching assistant, and music teacher for the past three years. I teach a variety of genres, including pop, classical, musical theatre, and more. Please contact me with any questions.
I am friendly and approachable, and I enjoy teaching children and adults of all ages. I have been teaching for 3 years and am DBS checked. I start lessons by letting my students take the lead on the kinds of music that they would like to learn. This helps them to build their confidence and vocal technique. If they would like to, we can move on to singing grades, or we can continue to learn any kind of repertoire that is both appropriate for the student's voice and age, and that they would like to learn.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been working in schools and teaching music for 4 years, I not only teach but also work in the industry as a session artist where I record and write music for clients internationally. Signing and voice studies have always been my passion and I love passing this onto others.
Tutoring Approach:
My focus in teaching is to create an enjoyable experience that is relaxed, friendly, fun, professional, supportive and encouraging.
I believe that this is the best way to learn and develop a passion for singing and music as a whole. I aim to create a learning environment that suits each individual pupil.
Together we will work on your personal goals for your voice and cover repertoire that you find interesting and engaging and I will teach how these should be sung, both safely and with proper singing technique.
I teach online and I am happy to do both 30 minute and hour lessons.
I will work with you at whatever pace is most comfortable to achieve your vocal goals and will be committed to your vocal journey!
