Personal Description:

Karolina began playing the violin at the age of five.

She is a proud alumna of Trinity College, Cambridge University, where she read Music and also held a choral scholarship as well as being President of the college’s prestigious music society. At university she frequently led ensembles and orchestras, as well as giving numerous solo concerts & recitals, including her undergraduate finals recital. Since university, she has continued her studies for voice and violin privately, whilst also taking on professional engagements.

Since 2022 she has been studying with the revered violin professor from the Royal College of Music, Lutsia Ibragimova. Karolina’s most recent professional engagements include the Andermatt Winter Music Festival with the English Classical Players (Switzerland), recordings of contemporary works, including Maria Antal’s Kron-Alias Violin Concerto (Budapest Music Center), as well as numerous recitals across London and Cambridge. She is also a founding member of Chapel Perilous, a chamber group specialising in Holy minimalism directed by countertenor Guy James. She has gave her solo debut in Hungary May 2023 with the Gödöllő Symphony Orchestra playing The Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Tutoring Experience:

Having studied violin all my life and from some of the very best teachers, I consider it my mission to pass this knowledge on. Currently, I study with Lyutsia Ibragimova (Royal College Music), proponent of the Yankelevich Russian School of Violin Playing. My former pedagogues include Berent Korfker, Nathan Giem, Sue Lynn and Margaret Norris. I have had a handful of pupils in the past alongside full-time study.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in everyone and primarily think that solidity of technique is what allows everyone's own musicality to shine through.

Fees ££: I have a couple of spaces available for lower income at a reduced rate - this should not be a barrier to learning the violin!
