Personal Description:
I love teaching the violin and piano and have many years experience of teaching and of playing Music.
Tutoring Experience:
Grades may be taken if pupils want to work towards these and I have taught many pupils who have achieved merit and distinction when they have wanted to be entered for a Graded Exam, but pupils don't have to take grades and they can build up their knowledge of music and of playing different pieces without taking grades, as lessons are tailored to each individual pupil the choice is yours.
I also teach adults and children with learning disabilities and we again tailor the lesson to each individual and make music fun.
Tutoring Approach:
Pupils can learn to play through classical, rock or pop music. The first lesson is free and for 30 minutes. In this lesson we can decide how pupils want future lessons tailored to them. We chat about posture and hand position and make sure for example if a pupil is learning the violin, that it is the right fit for them and that the pupil has all the accessories necessary in order to play the instrument comfortably.
I love music and really enjoy teaching and helping pupils find the fun and joy of learning a new instrument.

Karen has set out a number of exciting challenges and rewards Eleanor with stickers if she achieves the goals set each week.
Eleanor loves this format and looks forward to each lesson.
cannot thank Karen enough, the lessons to date have been face to face but with the proposed lockdown ahead of us this week its going to be achallenge for both of them.
