Information About Julia - Lambeth teacher
My name is Julia and I have several years teaching experience. I studied vocal performance at McGill University and lived in Milan, Italy for two years, before moving to London in 2003. As well as teaching I have an active singing career. I am an artist for Music in Hospitals and recently sang in Tosca with Opera Holland Park. This September I will be singing the soprano solo La Petite Messe Solenelle by Rossini for the Little Venice Music Festival.
I have about twenty singing pupils and put them through singing exams, if they are keen to do an exam. Some of my pupils do ABRSM singing exams and some do music theatre exams. I am also very experienced at teaching music and movement lesson to children under five.
I believe that breathing and support is the key to good singing. Many of my warm up exercises help develop active breathing. I like my pupils to work on repertoire that suits them which help develop their singing in the best possible way. I like to give my students goals, so I think it is good if they work towards something like an exam, audition or concert, or they may have an idea of what they to achieve.
