Information About Joshua - Glasgow teacher

Personal Description:

I am a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours) in Keyboard Performance.

Prior to studying at the RCS I graduated with a Diploma in Piano Performance at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore.

I have experience playing both pitched and unpitched percussion instruments in an ensemble, which is advantageous for instilling a strong sense of rhythm and pulse for beginners.

I am also an experienced accompanist and have accompanied many instrumental exams.

In my free time, I make covers of songs which I post on my YouTube channel **Removed By Admin**

Tutoring Experience:

I have been playing the piano for about 20 years and have three years of teaching experience. I am comfortable teaching both classical and pop piano, and have experience teaching students of ages from 4 to 60.

Tutoring Approach:

My main focus is to help my students discover their passion and joy in music making. I am flexible in my teaching, and leave it to my students to choose if they would prefer following ABRSM or Trinity Syllabi, or learning just for fun!

For beginners, I follow the syllabus of several beginner books such as Alfred’s, A Dozen A Day, and books written by Ying Ying Ng and Lina Ng.

For slightly more advanced students we could possibly look at developing further technique with my own finger exercises, Hanon and Czerny studies.
