Personal Description:

I'm a multi-instrumentalist, with Grade 8 Distinction in Clarinet, Saxophone and Piano. I'm also a self-taught guitarist and singer, and was lucky enough to study at Oxford University.

I'm a full-time musician, playing piano for South London Jazz Orchestra, as well as singing in London Contemporary Voices and a number of wedding bands. I've been lucky enough to perform live backing vocals for a number of notable bands and artists, including Keane, Alev Lenz, and Orlando Weeks. I also compose music for films, and have written songs for several high profile artists, including Jack and Joel (X-Factor Finalists 2017).

Tutoring Experience:

I've been teaching piano in schools and privately for the past 3 years. I've taught students of a range of ages and abilities, helping them to score highly in grade exams all the way up to Grade 8.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm passionate about helping people harness their own love of music, and so I always focus on helping my students learn the songs that they want to play.

I'm happy to help you read music, or play by ear - I find that both are highly useful skills, depending on your aims. My lessons are always good-natured and fun, although I do expect my students to try - that is the only key ingredient to becoming a great musician.
