This is how 3 referees rated Joshua:
Hi, I'm Josh! I've been teaching guitar for over ten years and am passionate about inspiring people of all ages and abilities to play music. I teach all styles and genres, with a specialism in acoustic fingerstyle. I have performed at the Southbank Centre, Royal Albert Hall and End of the Road Festival, and my music has been placed on ITV, Channel 4 and Sky. I currently play mandolin with the Trad Academy Sea Shanty Choir.
I currently tutor at DaCapo Music Foundation Flagship Saturday School in North London and Christchurch Primary School in Chelsea. I have performed with schools at the City of London Festival and worked with young people in a variety of settings including one-to-one tuition, ensemble teaching, community outreach, musicianship workshops, and rock band masterclasses, as well as tutoring students through exams with ABRSM and London College of Music. I have a First Class BA in Music and am trained in the Kodaly method. I am a member of The Musician's Union, PRS and the Registry of Guitar Tutors, and have an up-to-date DBS Certificate.
I have a flexible and student-centred approach that aims to tailor lessons to the interests and enthusiasms of students while also integrating musicianship skills, formal technique and improvisation. I have a wide range of students, from 7-year-olds learning simple folk melodies to adults learning popular songs or studying jazz and blues. I take great pride in being a good role model for children with a warm, enthusiastic and adaptable approach.
