Providing piano lessons in York to children and adults, beginners to advanced.
Alongside a busy teaching practice, I am also available for booking as an accompanist, and for recitals, concerts and other events.
Tutoring Experience:
Ranging from beginners to post-gradua**Contact Detail Removed**vel, my current and former students include competition and academic award winners. I have experience teaching people of all ages and backgrounds, including peripatetic lessons in schools and a music academy.
I have a BA (Hons) in Music Composition and Professional Practice, an ABRSM Diploma in Piano Teaching, and Grade 8 Music Theory. I am also a Full Professional Member of EPTA UK and an ISM Registered Private Teacher.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach draws from a range of schools of piano playing in a way that is engaging and accessible to the modern learner of any age. Students are encouraged to listen closely to themselves whilst they play, paying careful attention to both the technical and artistic aspects of practice and performance. Strong independent fingers, elastic hands and supple wrists enable my students to express themselves with artistic, sensitive and stylistic interpretation.
