Information About Joseph - Haringey teacher

Personal Description:

I am a professional guitarist and electronic musician working in London. I specialise in pop and classical style guitar but my interests include British folk music, American and British blues styles, free-jazz and free-form improvisation and hybrid electronic/acoustic performance. Simply put I love performing on and writing music for the guitar and playing with other people of all skill levels.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught privately in Berlin and Newcastle and also been a member of Durham Music Services' cover pool of instrumental teachers.

Tutoring Approach:

I find exploring each individual pupil's personal experience of the guitar to be the best way to teach music. Passion and enthusiasm form the basis of my teaching method; learning a musical instrument is as much about finding your own voice as following a strict programme. At the same time however it is useful to understand the principles of whichever area of guitar music the pupil is studying meaning that each lesson also has a grounding in some historical approach to the style as well as study of significant techniques or idioms.
