Information About Josef - Salford teacher

Personal Description:

I am an experienced teacher and performer of trumpet and cornet. Starting at the age of 9 I quickly progressed and joined a local championship section brass band in Huddersfield. I then went onto play for the Grimethorpe Colliery Band for a number of years, winning numerous National titles. During this time I was also a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, being named leader and principal cornet in 2008. I have since performed with Brighouse and Rastrick and am currently a member of Flat Cap Brass performing at events up and down the country.

I studied trumpet performance at the Royal Northern College of music, performing in masterclasses with Hakan Hardenberger and Kristian Steenstrup. Alongside playing in brass bands I have also gained professional orchestral experience with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

Tutoring Experience:

Since graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2014 I have worked both privately and with many music services up and down the country. With both group and one to one tuition I have taught from beginner standard all the way through to post grade 8.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe every student is different and I am very flexible in my approach to getting results. I adapt my teaching methods to suit each individual student. I have taught both people focused on making their way through grades to those who just want a more casual approach. I believe lessons should first and foremost be fun and enjoyable with a good mix of hardwork to help achieve the students goals.
