Personal Description:

I am a professional drummer, educator, and producer. Having worked in this capacity for around ten years, I have experience in touring, live playing, session recording, composing, arranging, producing, and events management. I run an educational video series, have published education media, numerous musical releases, and an endorsement with Bosphorus Cymbals. I believe in the art form, strong technique, individual expression and creativity, strong theoretical knowledge, and a passion for music, especially jazz and fusion music.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching since 2011. I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, from guiding beginners through their Grade 1 exam, to aiding aspiring professionals reach their potential. I have delivered international masterclasses, published educational drumming books, and spoken at length about various aspects of drumming in both teaching and video environments. I am also very experienced with working with students, both children and adults, with learning difficulties, autism, aspergers, and ADHD.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach primarily revolves around fostering a true love for the instrument and the art form. Much of my own progress came from loving drums, drumming, and accomplished drummers, all of which drove me to work harder and study further. If the student loves drumming, they will improve. That said, I am very strong on technique, posture, rhythmic framework, and a stylising approach to music. I use world class drummers to demonstrate the highest levels of playing, and use my studio setup to record and provide feedback on the student's playing.
