Personal Description:
I have been playing saxophone for over 40 years. I started in junior concert and swing bands in Bolton whilst at school and then progressed to playing in semi-professional bands (just for fun not money) across Lancashire.
My passion is with Big Bands, playing alongside professionals in several bands in Lancashire, e.g. The John Towers band of Garstang, Ben Fenton in Blackpool. I currently play Lead Tenor in the Starlight Swing Orchestra in Chorley, of which I was a founding member back in 2004.
I am also am instrument repairer (**Web Address Removed**) of Saxophones and Clarinets.
Tutoring Experience:
Helping other players improve is something I've always done and now I'm retired from a job in IT, I can do it full time.
Tutoring Approach:
Easy going tuition style. You can do formal grades or just learn what you want to, whether it's popular music, big band(swing) music or improvisation.
