Information About John - Biggleswade teacher

Personal Description:

I studied music from the age of four, being trained classically, and completed the Trinity College of Music examinations. I also studied music at college and have played classical music in orchestras. I am equally at ease with other genres of music having played in a number of bands, including genres of blues, popular music and rock. I have been involved in organising “Rotary Young Musician“ in the past and played music in numerous venues and settings.

Tutoring Experience:

I I have over 25 years music teaching experience, both online via video link and in person from my music studio at home.

As a registered tutor for the ABRSM and a digital Trinity College of Music examination venue and partner, many of my students can choose to take music examinations.

I have a 100% pass rate with most people at merit and distinction for all grades.

Tutoring Approach:

Piano and keyboard lessons are structured to fulfil individual requirements and developmental needs. I enjoy teaching both adults and children of all ages and encourage them to develop style, expression and interpretation to enhance musical performance.

While music examinations can be a helpful measure of attainment, there is so much more to music than this. I aim to make your piano lessons both fun and entertaining and of course cover the theoretical side of music during our lessons together.

I encourage pupils to write their own musical compositions and songs and teach pupils how to write music and to structure it depending on genre.
