Information About John - Leeds teacher

Personal Description:

Hey! I am an electric guitarist and bass player who plays a variety of styles from rock and punk, to jazz, funk, and disco. I live and work in Leeds, having studied music at the university. I recently completed a performance degree in which I specialised in jazz guitar, and spent a year studying at a world renowned jazz conservatoire, the University of North Texas College of Music. I currently play in pit bands for musicals, jazz quartets and trios, and work as a session guitarist for local label Readymeal Sound. My further interests in music include film music, and songwriting!

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught guitar and bass lessons for the last five years, taking students from a host of experience levels. From absolute beginners to advanced I have experience teaching to grades, and teaching to programs set out by myself and the students.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tuition is one of positive reinforcement and flexibility. In the first lesson I will have you set out your personal goals for this instrument, and then I will set out a program that will help you achieve them. In my teaching I insist on a positive work atmosphere, in which we strive for our goals and have fun along the way!
