Information About Joe - Glasgow teacher
This is how 2 referees rated Joe:
I'm a professional guitarist and graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's Jazz Degree. I'm very passionate about music, and love to share my enthusiasm with my students!
I perform regularly across Glasgow, mainly as a jazz musician, though I have considerable experience playing rock, blues, soul & funk and folk. As well as teaching all these styles, I have a comprehensive understanding of music theory, and can offer jazz improvisation lessons for any instrument.
I've taught at all levels of ability and ages, from giving absolute beginners an introduction to the instrument, to helping more advanced students refine their skills and prepare pieces for performance. I've given workshops to large groups of students, and recently gave a jazz masterclass at Aberdeen University.
I don't believe in a 'one size fits all' approach, as every student has their own unique interests and goals. I'm very patient and encouraging, and seek to make learning guitar a rewarding and enjoyable experience. I like to help students help themselves - establishing a strong technical foundation and good practice habits gives students the tools to go out and play the music they love.
Music theory is a fascinating topic, which can enrich the learning experience - I can supplement guitar lessons with as much or as little theory as a student wants!
