Personal Description:
I am a professional violinist operating in the Midlands area. I studied a Music degree at Royal Holloway, University of London and specialised in Violin performance and Composition. I have over 20 years of experience in teaching music and the violin, music theory, viola and trumpet and hold a PGCE in Music from the Institute of Education. I have been Head of Music at John Kelly Boys' Technology College and Alderbrook School, Solihull, as well as being string tutor and music teacher at Cheslyn Hay High School. I also have an additional 5 1/2 years of experience working in Special Educational establishments. My music career was put on hold for 7 years back in 2004 as I served my country as Royal Navy Officer, but I am glad to be back in the music business, particularly as a tutor.
Tutoring Experience:
8 1/2 years of school based teaching full time, in addition to offering private music tuition since graduating in 2000.
Tutoring Approach:
The lessons will be tailored to the needs/age/interests/musical tastes of the individual. Each lesson comes with a written plan/summary that the learner (or learner's parents) may keep to monitor progress.
