Personal Description:
My name is Joanna, and I began playing the cello and piano at the age of 7. I made my debut as a soloist performing Goltermann’s Concerto in G-major at the age of 12 and since that time I had appeared in concerts and festivals around the world as a concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician.
Since 2015 I am a member of the Bukolika Piano Trio with whom I enjoyed several important international successes. I studied with Christoph Richter at the Royal Academy of Music, (supported by a scholarship from the Clumber Studio). I completed my PhD degree in January 2020 and soon after released my debut album "Kaija Saariaho - works for cello" in 2022. The album has received 5 camertons from DAPASON and nomination for the International Music Award in 2022. Currently I am an assistant cello teacher at the Academy of Music Krakow as well as a private tutor. I am also interested in the music therapy and pedagogy and I am completing my qualifications to become a counsellor. My area of interest is the effect of an emotional distress on a performer/performance.

Tutoring Approach:
The aim of my teaching on a beginner level, for all the music subjects I offer, is to evoke the joy of music-making, and throughout the lessons I will incorporate a solid technique that will enable you or your child to progress swiftly and in a correct way.
For more advanced students I will focus the teaching around perfecting technique and exploring the repertoire.
I also incorporate basic knowledge of music theory and music history in my teaching because I strongly believe in a comprehensive musical education.
