Information About Jimmy - Brackley teacher

Personal Description:

I am a professional artist/session musician and I am a graduate of the Birmingham Conservatoire Bmus (hons) jazz course. I have performed all over the UK, Europe and the USA, at large festivals and prestigious concert halls. I have worked as a session guitarist in some of the UK's top recording studios.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught guitar privately for around 15 years and I have around 6 years experience working in secondary schools and privately run music schools. Most of my teaching experience has been on a one to one basis but I have also been involved in band coaching

Tutoring Approach:

My lessons are tailored to the individual student and what they want to achieve. I focus lessons around learning songs whilst delving deeper into how they work. I have a strong emphasis on improvisation and aim to help the student develop the skills they will need to succeed as a professional musician. My ultimate aim is to teach the student how to teach themselves.

I am happy teaching all styles of music including rock, blues, jazz, country, bluegrass, classical, metal, acoustic as well as songwriting and music theory. I am comfortable taking students through the different grade exam boards if required.
