Personal Description:
Hi, I'm Jennifer and I am a vet in Sheffield who is also very passionate about music! I began playing the piano at the age of 6 and have always enjoyed music performance, improvisation and composition. I achieved an A* in music at GCSE, a Distinction in ABRSM Grade 5 music theory in 2012 and a Distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 piano in 2019. I am currently working towards a Diploma on the piano and also play violin in the Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra.
Tutoring Experience:
I have several years of experience in private piano tuition. My students are at varied stages in their musical journeys, from being complete beginners to being a higher standard and wanting to achieve piano grades. I have also carried out teaching in lots of different other contexts, from teaching science to children while at University, to teaching new graduate vets in recent years. I am passionate about meeting the needs of each student, whatever age or stage, to help encourage a love for playing piano and for music in general!
Tutoring Approach:
I teach students up to the age of 18, whether they are beginning the piano for the first time, wanting to learn for fun, or looking to work towards ABRSM piano grades up to Grade VIII.
I am a mobile piano teacher and can provide a full sized electric keyboard for lessons, although it will help for practice to have access to a piano or keyboard at home or at school.
I aim to give piano lessons tailored to the ambitions of each student, provide support and structure in achieving goals, and am enthusiastic about making playing the piano accessible, fulfilling and enjoyable for everyone.
As well as 1 hour lessons, I can arrange 30 minute piano lessons for £25.

She has been great with our son, who she has taught from age 7 to 9. He has now completed grade I and II and has made excellent progress with his piano playing generally.
I would certainly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a piano teacher.
