Personal Description:

I am a friendly and experienced cello teacher, passionate about helping students of all ages and abilities discover the joy of playing the cello. With several years of teaching experience, I create a supportive and relaxed environment for my students to thrive. I have been teaching privately in North London for over three years and currently hold positions as a cello professor at Young Music Makers and Wimbledon Music School. My professional background includes performing as a cellist and working with various music organizations, including Southwark Music Hub. I was also a member of Southbank Sinfonia, which provided me with valuable performance insights that I continue to share with my students.

Tutoring Experience:

I have extensive experience teaching students of all levels, from young beginners to advanced players preparing for exams and auditions. I currently teach at Young Music Makers and Wimbledon Music School, where I also coach chamber music and assist students with ABRSM exam preparation. Additionally, I have worked with the Southwark Music Hub, teaching whole-class instrumental lessons. Over the years, I’ve developed a flexible teaching style that allows me to adapt to each student’s unique needs and learning pace. Whether you're just starting your musical journey or honing your skills for performances, I’m here to guide and support you.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching focuses on creating a personalised and enjoyable learning experience for each student. I aim to balance technical skill development with musical creativity, ensuring lessons are both fun and effective. I use established methods such as Suzuki and Cello Time Joggers/Runners and always welcome new repertoire to suit my students’ interests. I encourage improvisation as an important tool for building musical confidence and expression, whether playing solo or in groups.

In our first lesson, I’ll work with you to understand your goals, whether it’s playing for enjoyment, preparing for exams, or performing in concerts. From there, we’ll develop a learning plan that fits your pace and aspirations. My priority is to foster a comfortable and encouraging space where you can explore your potential and love for music.
