Personal Description:

Born in Derry, Northern Ireland, I studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and graduated with a performance degree in 1997.

As well as face to face and online private teaching, I am also a freelance professional orchestral musician. I regularly perform and tour globally with some of the world’s finest conductors and soloists within a variety of professional orchestras. These include: The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, The Halle, Opera North, English National Ballet, Northern Chamber Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, Welsh Chamber Orchestra, European Opera and Camerata Ireland.

I have many years experience in chamber music, and have a particular passion for string quartet playing and coaching. I have worked as a quartet member on numerous music education projects for the Society for the Promotion of New Music (SPNM) and the PRS foundation in a variety of locations across the UK.

I have recorded backing strings on commercial recordings and can be heard on multiple classical and popular music albums and singles over the last 25 years.

Tutoring Experience:

I live in Altrincham with my husband and two children and teach violin and viola privately from my home and online. I have a range of students from 7 years old to 70! Some pupils are working on ABRSM graded exams and scholarship auditions and others just play for fun. I also really enjoy teaching music theory.
