Personal Description:

Cambridge - based.
Qualifications: BSc Mus Hons, LGSM.
DBS certificate held, member of ISM.
All standards taught from beginner to Diploma and beyond.
All grade exams taught & entered for (ABRSM & Trinity)

Tutoring Experience:

I have been a teacher for over 30 years now, highly experienced and qualified. I taught at Dame Alice Owen's School until recently, and have taught at other schools for many years too. I also run courses for flute players of all levels. See my website www.jannahuneke.uk

Tutoring Approach:

My teaching is very individualised, catering to each students' style of learning and personality.
I tend to play the flute quite a lot, and the piano if appropriate, to give a feel of music-making and to give a total musical experience.
I use technology where it helps too, encouraging students to download useful apps, or sending recordings of pieces they are learning, to help with practice at home.
For smaller children I use games and other teaching tools, & I encourage progress by using motivational stickers and other short-term rewards.
