Information About James - Haverhill teacher

Personal Description:

I am an experienced singer and trumpet player, and an established choir trainer and conductor with over eighteen years experience in teaching and performing music. I am also friendly and reliable, and an approachable teacher.

Tutoring Experience:

I work regularly as a tutor for the Woolwich Tramshed Performing Arts Centre, and I am engaged as a freelance education practitioner by the BBC Singers, the National Youth Choirs and the Canford Summer School of Music. Throughout my personal training and employment I have worked with many of the most respected music educators in the country. These have included Michael Brewer OBE (former Head of Music, Chethams, Manchester), Ralph Allwood (Director of Music, Eton, Windsor), Susan Digby (Founder and Principal, The Voices Foundation), David Lawrence (Animateur, Youth Music) and Bob Chilcott (Composer and Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Singers).

Tutoring Approach:

The focus of my teaching is on confidence building, exposing pupils to a wide range of exciting repertoire and inspiring people to achieve beyond their expectations. I have a reputation amongst my colleagues for inspiring those I work with, and nurturing creativity and dynamic music making.
